Saturday, April 1, 2006 (New Delhi):

Budget carrier GoAir has announced plans to launch daily flights, which will connect Delhi to Mumbai and Chennai.

It has also added a new plane in its fleet of A320 aircraft. This will be used to carry the Indian and English cricket teams during the ongoing ODI series.

The carrier has also that it would offer concessions on its tickets to customers, who succeed in getting a ticket from a rival airline that is cheaper than its own on the same sector.

The airline would also reimburse the cost of immediate cancellation of its competitor's tickets.

This was announced by GoAir Managing Director Jeh Wadia at a press conference.

Announcing its expansion plan, he said GoAir, which currently has three aircraft in its fleet, would add five more by the year-end, another ten next year and another 15 in 2008, taking the total fleet strength to 33 in three years.

GoAir Challenges Competition Through Aggressive Marketing Campaign Named Official Carrier of the Cricket ODI Series

Announces the addition of its newest Aircraft to the current fleet

GoAir, ‘The People’s Airline’ today announced the addition of its newest aircraft in the current fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft. This aircraft will be used to ferry the Indian and English cricket teams and media to the venues of the ongoing ODI series in the country. GoAir had recently inked a landmark deal with the BCCI as the official air carrier of the ODI series between India and England.

Commenting on the latest addition to the fleet Mr. Jeh Wadia, Managing Director GoAir said “We are proud to announce the addition of a state-of-the-art Airbus A320 to the fleet which will be used exclusively for the transportation of the two teams as well as their security and off course the media contingent that goes with a series as great as this. GoAir remains as always committed to the safety and comfort of all our passengers apart from providing them with the most economical flight costs in the country. This promise is what compelled the BCCI to sign us on as the official airline for the series.”

GoAir also revealed that they will have additional 5 aircrafts in operation by the yearend and their target number is 33 by the end of 2008. This comes behind GoAir’s recently placed order for 20 aircraft with the Airbus Industrie at Singapore last month. GoAir has ambitious plans for the North and equally high expectations of the region. From April 3rd, GoAir will link Delhi to Chennai and Mumbai daily at very convenient timings as well commence operations on the Mumbai – Srinagar – Jammu sector.”

Mr. Jeh Wadia also announced a new campaign titled “The GoAir Challenge” aimed at the growing passenger loads of all airlines in India. The challenge states that if a customer flying on any domestic airline gets a better fare than a GoAir customer, on routes/sectors GoAir operates in, the customer gets twice the difference in fares reimbursed!!

Announcing the challenge, Mr. J Wadia, said “If the price paid for the ticket bought on a competing airline is lower than the price paid for the GoAir ticket, then GoAir will adjust double the difference between the fare of the Go Air ticket sold to you and the fare of the other airline as credit which can be used to purchase GoAir tickets. GoAir will also reimburse the cost of cancellation done immediately of the other airline’s ticket as credit which can be used to purchase GoAir tickets.”

“This challenge aims to simplify the decision making process for passengers in the complex world of Check Fares, Apex Fares, Super Apex Fares, and Dyna Fares apart from giving a value for money proposition that no other airline offers. We will continue to be committed to giving our customers the highest quality of service at the most economical rates”, said Mr. Wadia. GoAir offers dynamic pricing such that - the earlier the passengers buy their tickets, the lower fares they enjoy.

GoAir currently operates a fleet of Airbus A320s with 28 flights covering 14 cities.
